Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef-turned-tv personality, and former instructor in the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. The spiky blond hair and pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides clear, easy to learn techniques to the home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell also has worked in the top New York restaurant chains, delved into Italian cuisine as well as its traditions. She also competed in Food Network Iron Chef America. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for culinary arts and food at the age of a child. She furthered her interest in the industry of restaurant management by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. According to her "I was a huge Culinary Institute of American student. I enjoyed every moment." I couldn't learn enough couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduating, Chef Burrell took a gap year to Italy participating in Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a 1 Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Her understanding grew of Italian culture and cuisine while in Italy and this has affected her culinary style. Burrell is a well-known ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aids children with obstacles. as a speaker, guest and coach, she travels throughout the United States to discuss the joy of cooking as well as her work. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she often says that she feels very fortunate to share my passion within my life with other people.
